What are the sub-themes?
The team for the competition is Developing Responsible AI Solutions for Strengthening Climate-Sensitive Health Systems. Teams will select a sub-theme most relevant to their research question:
- Predictive Analytics for Disease Outbreaks: Using AI to predict and mitigate the impact of climate-induced diseases such as vector-borne illnesses (e.g., malaria, dengue) or waterborne diseases (e.g., cholera).
- Climate-Resilient Healthcare Infrastructure: Developing AI solutions to optimize healthcare delivery systems and infrastructure in regions vulnerable to climate change (e.g., extreme weather events, resource scarcity).
- Air Quality and Respiratory Health: Utilizing AI to monitor air quality data and develop interventions to protect respiratory health in areas affected by climate-related air pollution.
- Climate Change and Mental Health: Addressing the intersection of climate change impacts (e.g., displacement, trauma) and mental health through AI-powered solutions for resilience and support systems.
- Health Equity and Vulnerable Populations: Developing AI solutions to ensure equitable access to healthcare and health information for vulnerable populations impacted by climate change (e.g., indigenous communities, low-income urban areas).
